Dr. Sheikh Mahbub Habib

Sheikh Mahbub Habib is the Head of Growth Field "Security & Privacy" at Continental.

He is responsible for leading and driving product cybersecurity & innovation activities within the Automotive Technologies division.

He got his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) from Technische Universität Darmstadt Germany and Masters degree from Chalmers University of Technology in 2013 and 2009 respectively. His research interests include software security testing, software vulnerability analysis, automotive software security trustworthiness assessment.

What is Fuzzing?

"Fuzzing" or "fuzz testing" is currently the most effective testing approach to automatically detect security and stability issues in software. It involves providing invalid, unexpected, or random data as inputs to a computer program. 

Modern fuzzing engines (such as AFL++, or Jazzer) do not just use random inputs, but smart algorithms tailoring the input to increase the amount of code which is tested/covered by the fuzzer.
